This page explains in plain language what this site records, why we record it, and what we never ask you for. No legal jargon — just what actually happens.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages get read. It tells us which pages were opened, the general type of device, an approximate city-level location, and which site you arrived from. It does not tell us who you are, and we cannot use it to identify an individual visitor. Google processes that data under its own privacy policy.

The equipment value calculator

This is the only part of the site that writes anything into our own database, and it happens at exactly one moment: when you press Save as image. At that point we record:

• The equipment on your list — brand, model, quantity and value — along with the total.
• Your device: phone or desktop, model, operating system, browser, screen size, time zone and browser language.
• Your IP address and the page you arrived from.

Why we keep it: the competition side needs to know how many people actually finish a calculation, what equipment competitors are running, and which devices the tool has to work on.

What we never record: your name, email address or phone number. The calculator never asks for any personal detail, and there is no field to enter one.

Simply opening the calculator and adding equipment creates no record at all. If you never press Save as image, nothing reaches our database.

Data kept in your own browser

Your equipment list is stored in your own browser, not on our server — that is why it is still there when you come back. It is only sent to us at the moment you save an image. We also keep a random device code so we can tell how many times the same device has saved an image; it is not linked to your identity. Finally there is a session cookie (PHPSESSID) that expires when you close the browser.

Brand representative applications

Requests to add or correct equipment prices are sent to us by email. That information sits in our mailbox; the website itself stores none of it.

Who can see this

Only the people who run CarAudio Asia. We do not sell, trade or hand this data to third parties for advertising.

What you can do

Do not want a record kept? Simply do not press Save as image.
Want to clear what is in your browser? Use Clear on the calculator, or clear your browser data.
Want a record that is already saved to be deleted? Email us with roughly when you saved it and what was on the list, and we will find it and remove it.
Do not want Google Analytics to see you? Use your browser's tracking protection or a private window.
